The team at WST has compiled a list of some of our must-attend Drama and Performing Artworkshops. These can be tailored around your schools specific requirements and are perfect for budding actors and performers.

From dance classes at world-class studios, to singing, acting and improvisation sessions, your students will have fun whilst learning new key skills about the drama and performing arts industry.

London Dance and Performing Art workshops

Visiting the West End isn’t all about attending a spectacular show; with WST you can get a sneak peek behind the curtains, so to speak, improving your pupils’ key skills in the areas needed for a life in Performing arts.

City Academy’s new workshops help develop skills from acting in front of a camera, to fashion or stage make-up, with new workshops including:

  • Acting for Film and Television
  • Communication, Presentation and Public Speaking Skills
  • Acting and Drama
  • Fashion or Stage Make-up
  • Lighting for Theatre

No trip to the West End would be complete without attending at least one of the fantastic theatre workshops WST have to offer. Run by experienced professionals from ‘West End Workshop’ and held at popular venues such as Pineapple Studios and 'Dance Works', our wide range of workshops cover a variety of skills and in many cases, can be focussed on a show your class are seeing as part of their trip.

Just a few of our favourites include:

  1. Stage Combat

Students will learn about the relationship between acting and fight choreography. Discover how on-stage fights are choreographed; your pupils can hone their collaboration skills whilst creating their own combat.

  1. West End 101

Students are taught skills and techniques used by professional actors inspired by the themes of the show they are seeing on their trip.

  1. Theatre Improvisation

Perfect for fun and high energy groups! After physical and vocal warm ups, students stay active through team building and improvisational games designed to heighten focus, creativity and sensitivity to others.

Whether its ballet or ballroom, flamenco or freestyle, tango or tap - we have the perfect dance class for your pupils.

Rambert is the national company for contemporary dance and has a long history of working with schools and colleges to deliver high quality dance workshops to students of all ages and abilities. Led by a professional dancer and teacher, workshops are specially tailored to meet the individual needs of each group, focusing on a selected piece of work from Rambert's existing repertoire.

New York

If you’re thinking of venturing further afield than the West End, we couldn’t think of a better place to give your students an experience to remember than by arranging a trip to a Broadway show. They’ll really go home with the ‘wow’ factor.

How about attending The New Amsterdam Theatre? It offers a backstage tour which focuses on the costumes of the show Aladdin, this is a rare opportunity your pupils won’t want to miss out on.

There’ll also be the opportunity to visit the world-famous New York Film Academy, Acting and Film school. Your students can take a tour of the facilities followed by a talk about careers in film.

Times are limited. Contact the team for more details.

NBC Studio Tour

Students can go behind the scenes of some of the most well-known TV shows, visiting the NBC Sharp Globe Theatre, broadcast operations, the make-up room, and even produce their very own news and weather programmes.

We can also provide tailored theatre workshops with industry professionals specialising in a variety of techniques to improve areas of study such as:

  • Acting methods
  • Character development
  • Dance
  • Song writing
  • Vocal techniques
  • Audition coaching
  • Choreography
