At WST we provide German school trips to a number of fantastic destinations. Each trip is designed to help your students meet their learning objectives, by diving into the culture and history at the centre of their studies – and of course, putting their linguistic skills to the test.
Our school trips for German language students are put together by our in-house subject and destination experts. From booking accommodation to recommending restaurants and attractions, we’ll be there to guide you every step of the way.
We offer German language school trips to the following destinations:
Following feedback from Language teachers we have developed a language programme here in the UK so that your students to develop their language skills without travelling too far. Take a look at a German Language Trip to London for more information.
We are delighted to have teamed up with E3 Trails, the UK’s premier educational trail writer, to offer an interactive activity for language students. An E3 Trail is a journey of discovery which empowers students to engage in an enjoyable learning adventure whilst visiting the chosen location. Typically taking two-three hours, a Trail is a self-guided walk around many iconic sights of the location of your choice, punctuated with a wide variety of interesting tasks and challenges which your students complete in their teams. The competition element adds an extra edge to the activity as teams vie for the right to be declared the winners. The addition of an E3 Trail to your school travel itinerary will make your time abroad a truly memorable and rewarding experience. Currently available in Berlin and London.
A fantastic spot for deceptively educational downtime, our bespoke tours of Berlin have culture and history in spades. The Berlin Wall is a must-see for every visitor, and while its colourful East Side Gallery draws the eye, its history is equally significant. Separating East and West Germany during the latter half of the 20th Century, what’s left of the wall today is seen as an international memorial for freedom, and features work by artists from across the globe. Meanwhile the city’s bustling markets offer fantastic opportunities for students to test their German speaking skills.
With its small city centre and rich heritage, Munich is the perfect place for students to take one of our bespoke walking tours. As well as experiencing Bavarian life first-hand, requesting the tour in German will ensure your students can fine-tune their listening skills too.
Beyond the city centre, your German school trip can bring the history books to life in Nuremberg, uncover a fairy tale castle at Neuschwanstein Schloss, or visit the high-tech BMW museum. With such a broad choice of destinations to match your study topics, students can learn fantastic specialist vocabulary to use later. Our favourite word? ‘Zylinderkopfdichtung’. It means 'head gasket’.
From UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Cologne Cathedral, to instant student hits like the Imhoff Stollwerk Chocolate Museum, cruising around the Rhineland is a great way to spend a German school trip. If you come at Christmas, students can test out their German speaking skills by ordering a pretzel at the famous Cologne markets. But at any other time of year, our bespoke German Language Workshops and interactive quizzes can be geared towards your key study topics, and help your students fulfil their specific learning objectives in a rich and rewarding environment.
