About this trip

Take your students to London to experience one of our Criminology programmes. Your day will be led by an expert instructor who will guide your students around the city discussing key topics of evidence, surveillance, human rights and the history of crime & punishment. 

The instructors on your one day programme are highly experienced professionals at the WorkSecure group, with backgrounds in law enforcement, intelligence, policing, the military, education, social work and outreach.

Sample itinerary for a day trip

Day 1
Morning

Depart for London. Visit the National Justice Museum - Based in the Royal Courts of Justice, these 2-hour workshops immerse students in the legal system giving them the chance to take on roles such as a judge, barrister, defendant, witness or juror

Afternoon

Legal London Walking Tour - Weave in and out of London’s Inns of Court, a collection of attractive courtyards, cloisters and gardens, each with their own special history and personalities

Day 1
Morning

Arrive Tower Hill and meet WorkSecure Group Instructors. Work through Modules 1 & 2 covering London's history plus visiting Mitre Square, Tower Hill Green and a Jack the Ripper crime scene

Afternoon

Lunch / Briefing at The Gherkin. Then working through Modules 3 & 4 covering the subject of surveillance

Evening

Bus to meet outside of Liverpool Street Station to depart for school

  • City Of London Police Museum
    The museum has developed a new schools programme which focusses on KS4 Policing from 1000 to the present day. Over 90 minutes students will handle museum objects and get a guided tour of the museum to explore how policing has changed over the centuries.
  • London Dungeon
    The London Dungeon combines real history, horror and humour to bring gruesome goings-on back to life in the 21st century. A thrilling and exciting trip that students will love, with actors recreating events such as the Great Fire of London, Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper and an 18th Century courtroom.
  • The Clink Prison Museum Tour
    Dating back to 1144, this site is one of England’s oldest and most notorious prisons. In this this guided educational experience, view archaeological artefacts, handle torture devices, and hear all about the misfortunes of the inmates. Tour lasts 45 minutes with free time to explore after.

  • St Paul's Cathedral
    With its iconic dome that dominates the London skyline, St Pauls Cathedral is a must see for all groups visiting London. Over the years, decoration has been added and removed so that today the history of the nation can be seen in mosaics and stone carvings throughout the building.
  • Tower Of London
    See where numerous individuals lost their heads and visit the Prisoners exhibition which looks at some of the Towers more notorious convicts including Anne Boleyn, Edward V, Guy Fawkes and Sir Thomas More.
  • Highlights of London Guided Tour
    A half day guided tour of the city on board your coach is a perfect way to see all the major sites. Highly recommended if this is a first time visit to London for many of your students.
  • Museum Of London
    Step inside Museum of London for a memorable journey through London’s unsettled history. Telling London's story students can enjoy the prehistoric, Roman and medieval London galleries through to the present day.
  • Madame Tussauds
    A thrilling and exciting visit containing inspiring wax works of some of the world’s most influential and famous people. Galleries include Sport, World Leaders, The Royal Family and Music along with the Spirit of London ride and Marvel Super Heroes 4D experience.
  • Jack the Ripper Walking Tour
    Always in the evening and at its best when London is cold and misty, this eerie tour takes students back in time to 1888 to follow in the footsteps of the London Metropolitan Police as they try to catch a killer.
  • Thames River Cruise
    This cruise along the Thames is a great way to see some of the major sites of the city. We recommend groups take the 40 minute cruise from Westminster to Tower which takes in Westminster, Big Ben, Somerset House, London Eye, Oxo Tower, The Tate Modern, St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Tower.
  • Restaurants
    Make your evening meal a night out with a restaurant visit. We can book tables at an exciting range of restaurants offering pre-theatre dinner packages to suit all budgets.
