Designed for Year 6 Pupils to support their transition from Primary to Secondary school, these adventure school trip packages will give them vital experiences away from home that will help them to bond, build their confidence, and support their wellbeing.

Designed to support the curriculum of subjects such as PE, Geography, Literacy and PSHE, to name a few, the activities can support all your cross-curricular needs. Activities you can choose from include orienteering, archery, fire lighting, team challenges, shelter building, river dipping, get cooking, bushcraft and even gadget design.
Discovery Activity Package
Create your own package to choose activities that support the focus for your group. For example, team challenges, shelter building and orienteering can be built into your programme to support a focus on communication. Alex Rider Mission Briefing
Give your students the chance to become Special Agents for two days with a package based on the bestselling Alex Rider books by Mark Anthony Horowitz. Their mission will include orienteering, team building archery and an assault course. These thrilling sessions are led by the YHA experts and cover a range of curriculum content: literacy, numeracy, geography, and PE. Find out more here.
ACTIVITY PACKAGE NEED TO KNOWS
Take a guided walking tour of this beautiful walled city and you will discover the city's most important Roman-era landmarks. You’ll discover the Chester Roman Amphitheatre, the Chester Roman Gardens, will stroll its city walls, and will learn entertaining stories about its history as you go.
You can spend time in the most visited zoo in the UK, discovering their beautiful animals and habitats. Chester Zoo is also a conservation and education charity that is committed to preventing extinction. You can pre-book a themed educational workshop for during your visit such as 'preventing extinction', 'love it for longer' and 'evolution lions'.
This captivating underwater world is home to more than 100 living displays, as well as one of Europe’s largest collections of sharks. Find out about these animal habitats and what risks they face, discover the exotic freshwater fish of South America in the Flooded Forest, explore the Coral Cave full of colourful and exotic fish and take a wander through the 71m long shark tunnel watch as a kaleidoscope of sharks and fish swim over your head.
In this living history experience your pupils will be transported back to the time of the Romans, where they will travel across the sea to the North of Brittania, to the Roman Fortress of Deva. Once they have arrived and boarded a ship the children will learn why the Romans invaded Britain and built the fortress of Deva and what it was like to live in Chester as a Roman Soldier nearly 2000 years ago. There will be ports to explore, streets to walk down, a hospital, a Roman bath, an amphitheatre and plenty of hands-on activities.
The gory story of medicine through time. This family friendly interactive experience introduces you to the grim reaper, takes you down 'diagnosis alley', will fascinate you with the magic of potions and takes you into the 'turdis' time travelling toilet. If your pupils are fans of Horrible Histories then this could be for you.

Situated just outside the city centre of Chester, YHA Chester Trafford Hall was originally built in 1756 and combines the grandeur of a glorious Georgian house with modern, sustainable facilities.
Guests can make full use of shared spaces in the hall, including a spacious lounge, dining area and fun games room. There is also a drying room and as well as a meeting rooms upstairs.
All private and dorm rooms are en-suite. There are also 14 acres of organic grounds complete with nature walks and landscaped gardens to explore.
